In it and won it

A first time prize winner asks

I entered a competition having never bothered as I never win and went and won. Should I take this as a sign and go and buy some lottery tickets, raffle tickets and go off down the casino or should I just enjoy the glory?

Not sure that the advice from anonymous rely answers your question. Hopefully we might be able to though.
Common sense suggests that there is no such thing as a winning streak. Instead, winning is random. However, if you now entere many competitions, and win a few, you will perpetuate the illlusion of a winning streak by simply increasing the opportunities to win. You may end up with a house load of junk though. So, don’t buy a lottery ticket as you have to pay to lose.

home help

A fishy situation.

I have a dilema that perhaps you can help me with. A friend has asked me to feed his fish and water his plants while he goes on holiday for a month. Of course I am happy to help out, however, the urge to sell all his belongings on ebay, kick the door in and blame it on burglars is quite overwhelming. Can you advise on the best course of action? There’s an x-box in it for the best suggestion.

It is difficult to say what to do without more information. Perhaps you could list the contents that you might sell. This would also generate a few more adverts (and hence revenue) for this site.

Greater spending power than earning power

A shopper asks

I need to get myself a new monitor for my computer but would also like to get some routing software for my phone so I don’t get lost and also could do with a new printer. Which one should I treat as the highest priority?

If possible, both. Why not try and get your employer to pay for one if at all possible.

A dodo. Well known for its common sense.
