Mower Madness
A question from the garden
while looking for a new mower I have come accross the term “self propelled” and for a long time was left wondering whether the self was with reference to the mower (ie it drove itself) or the self was with reference to myself (ie I pushed it). It is only after lots of detailed analysis have a I found out that this is with reference to the mower. Am I the only one who can see this definition can be confusing??

It is confusing yes, as self propelled would indicate that it would keep on going after you took you hand off the leaver controling flow of fuel to motor, and even that it would keep going after it ran out of fuel. A better term may have been powered propulsion, which removes doubt.
Clear labeling is clearly important but thankfully you had the brains to work it out.
