Long Delays Possible

From a concerned motorist

I was recently driving up the A830 and there were signs initially warning of long delays.  This was soon followed by the worrying statement that delays were possible till Jan09.  Surely if there is a chance that people could be stuck on this road for 4 months accomodation should be offered?
