Ah kent yer faither

One of the google adverts on this site suggested I could trace my Scottish ancestry if I thought I had some. Could you provide thoughts on a common sense approach to doing this so I do not have to spend my pennies through the web site ?

    Worried about wasting pennies ? I suggest you do indeed have Scottish (or Yorkshiire) relatives. Instead of paying the fee charged by the web site, I used my initative and just popped a couple of miles down the road to my mum and dad’s hoose in Edinburgh for a coffee. Job done.
